Neymar still fighting to be fit for PSG match against Bayern Munich

L’Équipe are reporting that although the timing is tight, Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar (31) retains hope of being fit for the club’s Champions League match against Bayern Munich on 8th March.

The Brazilian forward suffered an ankle ligament injury during Les Parisiens’ dramatic 4-3 victory over Lille OSC on 19th February. He left the pitch on a stretcher and in tears during the fixture at the Parc des Princes, which put into question Neymar’s participation in the Champions League second leg against the Bundesliga champions.

PSG will have to overturn a one-goal deficit at the Allianz Arena, but they may be able to count on Neymar, at least on the bench. L’Équipe are reporting that although it will be touch-and-go whether he can feature in the game, the player is doing the maximum to ensure his participation. For now, Neymar is therefore not definitively ruled out of the key tie, which will take place in under a week.
