Chelsea resume training ahead of 2023-2024 season, featuring Thiago Silva, Andrey Santos and Cesare Casadei
Chelsea have resumed training at Cobham ahead of he 2023-2024 season. Chelsea senior players who were not selected for June’s International duties reported at Chelsea’s Surrey base as pre-season gets underway.
A couple senior players returned as first day at training on Tuesday featured other young and few faces.
Three Lions stars Reece James, Rahim Sterling and Ben Chilwell along with Thiago Silva and Marc Cucurella returned to training at Cobham.
Bashir Humphreys, Ian Maatsen and Cesare Casadei, all of whom spent last season out on loan, were among the younger players to be involved.
January signing Andrey Santos who was loaned back to his former side Vasco da Gama for remainder of the season was present in the series of sessions.
Carney Chukwuemeka and Trevoh Chalobah were also present.
The training involved medical tests, gym work and ball work led by Mauricio Pochettino.
International players will have a few extra days holiday before they return to Cobham and meet Mauricio Pochettino and his coaching staff.
Chelsea will embark on a pre-season tour in the US in two weeks time.
