‘He is too good’ as Manchester United fans go wild after Zidane Iqbal moment vs Cadiz CF

Countless Manchester United fans were left purring at the potential of midfielder Zidane Iqbal after he played a key role in helping the Reds get back into their friendly with Cadiz CF in Spain on Wednesday evening.

After finding themselves 2-0 down with less than a quarter of an hour on the clock, United, who looked very vulnerable defensively in the opening exchanges, got themselves back into the contest via a cooly-taken penalty from Anthony Martial. The Frenchman, who has struggled on the injury front this season, was brave enough to attempt a Panenka and sent goalkeeper Jeremias Ledesma the wrong way.

Although it was Martial, who started in attack alongside Alejandro Garnacho and Anthony Elanga, that scored the goal to halve the deficit, it was the work of Iqbal in the build-up to the penalty being awarded that earned much of the praise from fans. The Reds academy graduate interchanged with Martial after looking to up the ante and drew a foul inside the box.

It was excellent, progressive, forward-thinking play by the youngster, who impressed during the pre-season tour of Thailand and Australia back in July. Despite impressing on the tour, he has not played a single minute worth of competitive first-team football this season.

However, his role in allowing Martial to bring United back into the contest did not go unnoticed. It was terrific play by the 19-year-old and it earned plenty of plaudits from the fans. Below, MEN Sport has taken a close look at what they had to say on social media:
