Full Chelsea squad revealed for clash with Everton as Thomas Tuchel faces Timo Werner decision

Chelsea will be aiming to stay in the top-four on Monday evening when they host Everton at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea are confident to maintain their unbeaten start to life under head coach Thomas Tuchel when they welcome Everton to Stamford Bridge at 6pm this evening for a clash between fourth and fifth in the Premier League.

The Blues had made a fantastic start under Tuchel guidance, winning eight and drawing three in all competitions since the German took the reigns from Frank Lampard. Avoiding defeat against Everton will see Chelsea remain in the fourth Champions League spot and increase their current one-point lead on the Toffees.

Last time out Chelsea defeated Liverpool 1-0 at Anfield thanks to Mason Mount’s fifth goal of the league campaign., Mount began Tuchel’s first game in charge on the bench but has since become one of the first names on the teamsheet.

Timo Werner led the line at Anfield and was unfortunate not to score in the first-half when the tightest of offside calls went against the German as he broke through and netted. Tammy Abraham remains a doubt following his recent injury absence so the choice will be between Werner and Oliver Giroud for the central striker’s role.

Tuchel said on Werner’s form: “Timo is full of talent and plays for one of the best clubs in the world, in one of the best leagues in the world. So there is no need for him to worry too much.

“So if he puts in the effort, puts himself in a state of mind to play on the highest level. We are not counting the minutes [to goals] and for me and my approach it is not an issue.”

braham has missed Chelsea’s last two matches an ankle issue and it is unclear if he will be available to face Everton:

“Tammy had some problems with the ankle yesterday so we will see,” Tuchel said. “‘It’s my job to push him to his limits. We will not stop doing this and supporting him. It was a tough decision, but we have to make these decisions.

“It’s a part of my job I do not like, but at the same I like it because it means everybody is available.”

Andreas Christensen. Antonio Rudiger and César Azpilicueta had settled well into Tuchel preferred three-man backline and the manager may soon have Thiago Silva back in contention for a start, ahead of the Blues last match against Liverpool Tuchel said:

“Thiago made his first training with the team but did not finish the last exercise, just to be taking no risk.

“I assume he trains today [Tuesday] but not 100% so he will not join us for Liverpool.”

There has been no update on Silva’s since but with a few more days training behind him the Brazilian should soon be available for Tuhcel to call upon if he wanted to rest one of his regular centre-backs in the coming weeks.

With Abraham and Silva on the road to recovery, Tuchel could soon have the luxury of a full squad to select from and some very difficult if welcome decisions to make.
