Arsenal stun Nottingham Forest 2-1 in first EPL game

Arsenal beat Nottingham Forest 2-1 on Saturday early kickoff in their first game of the 2023-2024 Premier League season at Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal defeated Man City 4-1 on penalties in the FA Community Shield Cup last week to announce readiness for the Premier League this season. City and Burnley began the campaign in Friday night football at the Turf Moor with Pep Guardiola’s side led by believable Erling Haaland thrashing Vincent Company’s side 3-0 in massive title defense statement.

Arsenal took a 2-0 lead in the first half with Eddie Nketiah and Bukayo Saka striking on the 26′ and 32′ minutes respectively. Arsenal enjoyed a long spell domination in the first half but the visitors maintained the balance to not concede further goals.

Forest even came into the game well and reduced the deficit following Taiwo Awoniyi’s strike with eight minutes to full time. Arsenal have collected their first three points of the season and will travel to Crystal Palace next week Monday.
