Lewandowski says it would be a dream to play with PSG Star Lionel Messi

Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski has heaped praise on Lionel Messi and says he’d love to link up with the Argentine one day.

Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski says it would be a ‘dream’ to play with Blaugrana legend Lionel Messi.

Messi is currently in his second season at Paris Saint-Germain after leaving the Catalan club last year, but he has been linked with an emotional return to Camp Nou next summer.

“Messi is absolutely brilliant with the amazing passes he plays to the striker,” Lewandowski told Marca in an interview.

“If you think about Messi, he has this brilliant connection with strikers. He knows how to put the ball into the box, between the lines… he’s the best in the world at that.”

And on the possibility of linking up with the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner in future, he said: “I don’t know what’s going on right now, but for a striker, it would be a dream to play with Lionel Messi for sure.”

Lewandowski is currently preparing for the World Cup with Poland and thinks Argentina could be the team to beat in Qatar.

“I think Argentina with Messi are one of the favourites to win the World Cup,” he said.

“They haven’t lost in 30 games, they play well and you can see they are a really good team.”

Since signing from Bayern Munich in the summer, Lewandowski has scored 18 goals in his first 19 games for Barcelona.

Messi, meanwhile, has netted 12 in 19 appearances for PSG this season and warmed up for Qatar by playing 75 minutes in a 5-0 win over Auxerre on Sunday.
