Martial, Rashford and Sancho net in 3-1 victory over Crystal Palace as Manchester United make it 3 out of 3 in pre-season

Manchester United continued their fine start to pre-season making it 3 wins out of 3 games after beating Crystal Palace 3-1 in friendly on Tuesday at Melbourne Cricket Ground, Australia.

Erik ten Hag guided his new side to thrash Liverpool 4-0 in United first pre-season game before white-washing Melbourne Victory 4-1 last Friday.

As pre-season continues, United have added Crystal Palace to the sinking list after beating the Premier League rivals in Australia.

Thanks to goals from Antony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho that saw Palace succumbed to Erik ten Hag led Manchester United force.

Martial opened the scores 18′ minutes after kickoff latching onto Diogo Dalot’s lofted pass across from unmarked far posts.

Four minutes into second half, Rashford doubled United’s lead tapping in Donny van de Beek’s pass back. United dominated the game forcing Palace to create few openings in final third. United made it 3-0 after Sancho was played through on goal, the Englishman kept composure in one-on-one with a Palace defender and got the better of the situation, planting the ball beyond goal-keeper Jack Butland.

Some three minutes later, Mateta pulled one back for Palace but was ruled offside. Sixteen minutes to full time, Joe Ward reduced United’s lead to 3-1 having the Palace defender head home from Luka Milivojević’s corner. David de Gea could have done more good to the situation but saw his fingers touched the ball but still entered from a tight angle.

Youngster Will Fish was red-carded six minutes to time as United pick three straight wins from three pre-season games.
