Dimitar Berbatov warns Manchester United over Paul Pogba relationship with Zidane which can lead midfielder to Santiago Bernabéu

Former Manchester United forward Dimitar Berbatov has warned his former side over the relationship that exist between eventually proven-stubborn-to-be-tie down-at Old Trafford Paul Pogba and Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane.

Pogba has consistently branded to leave Manchester United where most sources have cited the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium as the French’s likeliest destination should in case the midfielder leaves Old Trafford.

The 27-year-old nearly leave United during the last two transfer windows to join his countryman Zidane at Real Madrid. It is believed that the Madrid boss admires Pogba a lot but Madrid officials, particularly, club President Florentino Pérez standing between Pogba’s move to Real Madrid.

However, Zidane is known to have tight relationship with Paul Pogba, and Dimitar Berbatov has insisted Pogba will shine anywhere he goes. And has warned the Manchester club to be aware of French contingent at Real Madrid led by Zidane as the club’s manager, and that Berbatov believes can influence the midfielder to join Los Blancos.

“If he was to move, wherever he goes he will be fine,” he told Betfair.

“He knows that if it isn’t working out that there is always a team waiting for him some place else and if he goes he’ll play and do well. Look at Romelu Lukaku, I mean what the f***? It didn’t work out for him at United and now he has been reborn at Inter, how do you explain that?

“It’s human nature, sometimes you just don’t feel comfortable in one place because the criticism is too much, you close yourself off and don’t let people in. You think to yourself: ‘It doesn’t matter what I do, nobody appreciates it,’ then you move and you score 23 goals for your new club.

“One thing I will say about the Real Madrid rumours is, don’t forget Zinedine Zidane is manager there and when you have a manager or other players from the same country you always speak and know that you will get on, especially speaking the same language, it makes you feel comfortable and that is not to be underestimated in this situation.”

If Pogba leaves Old Trafford this summer, it would not be a big problem for Manchester United now that the club is already preparing to fill the void that would be created by the French’s departure.

Former Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes has arrived driving United to a prospect direction, and the club is believed to be planning a move for Aston Villa playmaker Jack Grealish who the two can be perfect replacement for Pogba.
