Manchester United tell Malo Gusto not to rush into joining Chelsea

RMC Sport journalist Fabrice Hawkins is reporting that Manchester United are in the race to sign Olympique Lyonnais right-back Malo Gusto (19).

According to Hawkins, Chelsea already have a contractual agreement with Gusto, who have already submitted an offer for the defender. The France U21 international, who has just 18 months remaining on his contract with Les Gones, would sign a long-term deal with Chelsea. Hawkins reports that the deal would tie him to the Stamford Bridge squad for five years or more.

However, Chelsea aren’t the only club interested in recruiting Gusto this winter. Manchester United have also entered the fray, and have even asked the player not to rush into joining Chelsea.

A third Premier League club, Newcastle United have also reportedly made advances to sign the highly-coveted Gusto. According to Foot Mercato, the Magpies are considering making a “huge offer” for the player. The French publication added that the player was valued at around €40m.

Chelsea are also tracking Inter Milan’s Denzel Dumfries (26) as they look to bolster their right-back options. The club already have Reece James, Cesar Azpilicueta and Trevoh Chalobah who can occupy that position.
