Former Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro could make his debut for Manchester United in Premier League clash against Southampton this weekend. The Reds collected their first 3 points of the season after 2-1 victory over Liverpool and will be hoping to continue that winning prospect when they face the Saints on Saturday early kickoff.

United fans were looking forward for their latest signing Casemiro to make his debut against Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool but was present only in the stands to watch his new side beat one of Premier League title favourites.

There has been progress to the Brazilian making his debut for Erik ten Hag’s side after been granted a work permit, meaning he is available to play his first United game against Southampton this weekend.

Erik ten Hag will be eager for his side to build upon the impressive foundations of the Liverpool win when they face Southampton, and United could be given an extra lift by a possible debut for summer signing Casemiro.

The 30-year-old was officially announced as a new United player on Monday night and was unveiled on the Old Trafford pitch ahead of their 2-1 win against Jurgen Klopp’s side.

United have completed the signing of the Brazilian international for £60million rising to £70m, with Casemiro penning a four-year contract with the option of an additional year at Old Trafford.

Speaking after his signing was announced, the former Real Madrid player said: “The opportunity to start a new challenge at Manchester United and in the Premier League is extremely exciting. I have worked with many great managers in my career and, having met with Erik and heard his ideas, I can’t wait to work closely with him, his staff and my new teammates in the coming years.
