Chelsea confirmed lineup vs Wolves as Mason Mount dropped while Giroud and Odoi start in Thomas Tuchel debut game

Thomas Tuchel is playing his first game for Chelsea 24 hours after taking over the managerial job from Frank Lampard.

The German International and his team sit home at Stamford Bridge willing to brush aside Wolves who punished Chelsea 2-1 in the first leg last month.

Chelsea have are 10th on the Premier League table with 29 points having won just one in their last 5 games. They are sharing the same points build up with Aston Villa who may still have a game in hand when Villa play Burnley today.

Tuchel will find the margins are tight at Stamford Bridge as Lampard secured Champions League football and an FA Cup final in his maiden season with a reliance on youth and – despite taking seven points from the last 24 – the club are still only five points off the top four.

The German’s reputation for being stand-offish and his apparent disputes with authority will not matter at Chelsea providing he gets results, especially if he can use his Bundesliga experience to get compatriots Timo Werner and Kai Havertz, £125million-worth of new signings, firing again.

Chelsea XI: Mendy, César Azpilicueta, Silva, Rudiger, Ben Chilwell, Jorginho, Kovacic, Callum Hudson Odoi, Kai Havertz, Hakim Ziyech, Giroud

Wolves XI: Patricio, Boly, Coady, Kilman, Semedo, Dendoncker, Neves, Ait Nouri, Podence, Traore, Neto
