According to Turkish reports, Galatasaray are planning to activate Mostafa Mohamed’s buyout option in order to sell him to Serie A side Atalanta.

Mostafa had a spectacular debut season with Galatasaray after having joined them from Zamalek last season, during which he scored nine goals in 17 appearances.

Many of the Lions’ fans, pinned their hopes on the 23-year-old going into the new season, especially after the departure of Henry Onyekuru and Radamel Falcao.

Despite his fantastic start, Mostafa couldn’t continue with the same form as he had an underwhelming start this season.

However, the Egyptian forward successfully bounced back as he slowly returned to his old self, in his last five league participations, he netted four goals.

The impressive shows put on by the Egyptian striker have attracted many clubs’ eyes from all around the globe.

Mostafa’s loan to Galatasaray ends by the end of the season, but $4 million buyout option can be activated to have the player permanently, and according to Turkish news outlet fotoMac, the club does intend to do so.

The Turkish source claims Galatasaray intend to buy Mostafa in order to immediately sell him to Serie A side Atalanta.

Don’t miss out on

Atalanta’s plan for the 23-year-old forward is to replace Luis Muriel who they are planning to sell. Mostafa’s deal to the Italian club could reportedly cost them $10m.

The Italian outfit finished third last season to book Champions League football and have opened strong start to Serie A this season. They currently sit fourth place with 22 points, 10 more below leaders Napoli after 12 games.

The Serie A side have struggled in the UEFA Champions League winning only once from four games to land third in Group F along with Manchester United, Villarreal and Young Boys.

Goal scoring is not a problem for Atalanta having a total of 7 goals in the Champions League which set them on level with highest scoring side Manchester United and 22 in Italian top flight, 7 more goals below the free scoring club Inter Milan.

Despite their lack of goal scoring problem, Atalanta are reportedly aware of the Egyptian qualities and will want to secure his move summer before they face stiff competition for his signature in the near future.

Mostafa is willing to make that massive move to Italy to reach top level in European football. If signed, he could form a deadly attack with Colombia International Duvan Zapata who is Atalanta’s crucial source of goals for years now.
