Pyramids FC reward boss Takis Gonias with 3-year contract renewal

Egyptian Premier League side Pyramids FC have officially renewed the contract of club head coach Takis Gonias.

Takis had arrived in Egypt back in 2018 through Wadi Degla, who he coached for two-and-a-half years, and introduced his attractive transition-based football.

As a result, he was signed by Pyramids back in June of 2021 as they believed he was the best fit for the team.

However, his stint was not a long one as he was sacked after only 12 games in charge, of which he won five, tied in six, and lost one.

Despite that, he returned for a second time after the departure of Ehab Galal four months ago, and since then he’s been making impressive shows with the Blues.

So far, he led them to a second-place finish in the Egyptian Premier League, which is the best domestic achievement in the club’s history.

Consequently, Pyramids have renewed the contract of the Greek head coach as they agreed on a new deal that ends by 2025.

He has guided Pyramids to a second place in the Egyptian Premier League that will see them participate in the Caf Confederation Cup this season.
