Mamelodi Sundowns confirmed lineup vs Stellenbosch as new signing Marcelo Allende makes to bench

Mamelodi Sundowns will be hoping to close the gap on leaders AmaZulu when they host unbeaten Stellenbosch on Wednesday evening in the Dstv Premiership.

Sundowns have surprisingly been inconsistent in the early stages of the season, as they are yet to win back-to-back matches.

The Brazilians could not gain momentum after thrashing Kaizer Chiefs 4-0, after being held to a 1-1 draw by Sekhukhune United on Saturday evening.

As a result, The Tshwane giants find themselves fourth on the log with seven points, three points behind leaders AmaZulu.

In comparison, Stellies retained their unbeaten start to the season after coming from behind to rescue a 1-1 draw against Cape Town City in the Cape derby.

Steve Barker’s charges are placed eighth on the log with six points, just one point behind their opponent, Sundowns.

Stellenbosch beat the Brazilians for the first time in their history with a 3-0 drubbing towards the end of last season while the sides shared the spoils 1-1 in the first-round meeting.

Sundowns fans have been handed positive news after the club announce the signing of Chilean midfielder Marcelo Allende on 5-year deal.
