Egypt beat Morocco to qualify for African handball Championship quarterfinals

Egypt handball national team have beaten Morocco 36-21 in their second game of the 2022 African Men’s Handball Championship group stage.

The 2022 and 2024 African Men’s Handball Championships were originally planned to take place in Morocco and Algeria, but CAHB made the decision to ban both countries from organizing the prestigious tournament due to a lack of sportsmanship.

Following the ban, the two competitions were moved to Egypt, with the 2022 edition starting yesterday.

The Pharaohs kicked off their journey in Group A as hosts, and they are accompanied by Cameroon and Morocco.

The first game was a comfortable 40-17 victory for the Egyptians as they dominated their clash with Cameroon.

The second game wasn’t so different, despite Morocco putting up a fight early on, Egypt successfully came out on top with the result of 36-21.

With that win, Egypt qualified for the quarterfinals on top of Group A, where they are scheduled to play Algeria. The clash takes place tomorrow Friday at 8:00 PM CLT.
