Egypt kick off African Handball Championship with massive victory over Cameroon

Egypt handball national team have kicked off their 2022 African Men’s Handball Championship journey with a massive 40-17 victory over Cameroon.

The 2022 and 2024 African Men’s Handball Championships were originally planned to take place in Morocco and Algeria, but CAHB made the decision to ban both countries from organizing the prestigious tournament due to a lack of sportsmanship.

Following the ban, the two competitions were moved to Egypt, with the 2022 edition starting yesterday.

The Pharaohs kicked off their journey in Group A as hosts, and they are accompanied by Cameroon and Morocco.

In their first group stage clash, Egypt came out with a comfortable win, beating Cameroon 40-17 in what looked like a one-sided game.

The Egyptians’ next and last group stage game will be against Morocco, and it takes place tomorrow at 8:00 PM CLT.

It’s worth mentioning that Egypt are the current defending champions in the African Handball Championship, while Tunisia are the tournament’s record holders.
