Egypt Women basketball exit 2022 FIBA 3×3 World Cup after Mongolia defeat

The Egyptian Women’s basketball team have crashed out of the 2022 FIBA 3×3 World Cup following a defeat against Mongolia.

The tournament took place in Antwerp and the Pharaohs kicked off the competition in Pool C alongside Poland, Mongolia, and Belgium.

Egypt got off to a good start and were named victors of their first game against the Dominican Republic, who withdrew from the World Cup.

Their opening game came against Belgium, where Egypt suffered a disappointing 19-6 defeat to the hosts. who completely dominated the encounter.

Another 19-10 loss to Poland followed later to pile more pressure on a frustrating tournament for Egypt with qualification for the round of 16 getting out of reach.

Going into the Mongolia clash, Egypt needed a win in their final group game to secure qualification to the next round.

However, Egypt fell to a 21-13 defeat to a resilient Mongolia side and end the campaign bottom of Pool C with 29 points.
