Egypt beat Mauritania in 2022 Arab Futsal Cup quarter-finals

After beating Mauritania 3-2, Egypt futsal national team have advanced to the 2022 Arab Futsal Cup semi-finals.

The Pharaohs kicked off their Arab Futsal Cup in Group 2, competing with Iraq and Algeria for the two qualification spots.

Egypt’s opening game was against Iraq, and the two sides split the game points after a thrilling 3-3 draw.

Next, Iraq beat Algeria 3-2, guaranteeing themselves a spot in the top eight, and leaving Egypt in need of a win in their second and final group stage clash.

The Egyptians successfully got what they wanted from the Algeria game, emerging on top with a 2-0 victory, topping the group, and accompanying Iraq to the quarterfinals.

In their top-eight clash, Egypt confronted Mauritania who proved to be formidable opponents despite qualifying from the group stage as third place.

However, the Pharaohs came out on top with a thrilling 3-2 victory, booking a spot among the top four.

Next, Egypt will come face to face with title-holders Morocco in a repetition of last year’s finale.
