BASKETBALL: Egypt start 2022 FIBA 3×3 World Cup with defeat to Belgium |

Egypt Women’s basketball team kicked off their 2022 FIBA 3×3 World Cup with a 19-6 defeat to hosts Belgium.

The 2022 FIBA 3×3 World Cup is currently taking place in Antwerp, Belgium, with 20 teams competing for the title.

The teams are split into four groups, with the first place advancing directly to the quarterfinals and the second and third finishers playing in the round of 16.

The Pharaohs kicked off their journey in Group C, alongside hosts Belgium, Poland, and Mongolia. The Dominican Republic were also placed in the same group but they withdrew before the tournament started.

In their first game, Egypt suffered a defeat to the hosts Belgium who completely dominated the game, winning it 19-6.

Despite that, the Egyptians still have good qualification chances as they need one of the top three spots to advance in the tournament.
