Germany come back from Cristiano Ronaldo opener to beat Portugal 4-2 in Euro 2020 |

Germany have put in a massive performance at the Allianz Arena and been rewarded with a massive result.

While they could easily have been knocked sideways by Ronaldo’s opener against the run of play, they stuck to their gameplan and continued to dominate. With a little help from Dias and Guerreiro, their four-goal flurry either side of half time blew Portugal away.

Portugal took the lead on 15’ minute through Cristiano Ronaldo but Ruben Diaz own goal cancelled the deficit before another own, this time from Raphael Geurreiro, put Germany ahead after first half.

Kai Havertz and Robin Gosens extended the host’s lead in the second half to make it 4-1 but Portugal warmed into the game and could only score from Diego Jota to make it 4-2 at the Allianz Arena.
