Euro 2020: Italy vs Austria confirmed lineups  as Mancini name strong XI

Italy have been hugely impressive so far at Euro 2020, and are big favourites to reach the quarter-finals as they take on Austria at Wembley tonight.

Roberto Mancini’s side have defied the typical stereotypes of Italian tournament teams with an exciting, attacking brand of football and it saw them cruise through the group stages with three succesive victories, over Turkey, Switzerland and Wales.

Austria, meanwhile, were underwhelming in beating North Macedonia and losing to the Netherlands in their first two games, but then produced an excellent – if slightly unexpected – display to topple Ukraine in their final match and seal the runner-up spot in Group C.

Italy were, along with England, one of only two sides to have gone through the group stage without conceding a goal but this could well be their biggest test to date.

Italy XI: Donnarumma, Di Lorenzo, Bonucci, Acerbi, Spinazzola, Barella, Jorginho, Verratti, Berardi, Immobile, Insigne

Subs: Sirigu, Locatelli, Belotti, Pessina, Emerson Palmieri, Chiesa, Cristante, Bernardeschi, Raspadori, Bastoni, Toloi, Meret

Austria XI: Bachmann, Lainer, Dragovic, Hinteregger, Alaba, Xaver Schlager, Grillitsch, Laimer, Sabitzer, Baumgartner, Arnautovic

Subs: Alexander Schlager, Ulmer, Posch, Ilsanker, Gregoritsch, Pervan, Baumgartlinger, Lienhart, Trimmel, Schaub, Schopf, Kalajdzic
