United Arab Emirates side Al Wahda attempt to lure Mosimane with lucrative offer

It has been reported that UAE Professional League side, Al Wahda, have contacted Al Ahly head coach Pitso Mosimane took takeover the team.

Despite losing the league and Super Cup titles, Mosimane is regarded very highly by the Reds’ fans, having guided them to back-to-back CAF Champions League titles, the CAF Super Cup, the FIFA Club World Cup bronze medal, as well as the Egypt Super Cup.

The 57-year-old was even approached by his own country to lead the South African national team, an offer he rejected in order to remain at the helm of the Al Ahly.

It was also recently rumored that an unnamed Emirati side had made him an offer but the former Mamelodi Sundowns coach turned it down.

Now, according to local reports, four-time UAE champions Al Wahda have made an offer for Pitso to take charge of the team with a $5 million annual salary, almost triple what he takes at Al Ahly.

According to the report, the team contacted Pitso’s wife and agent after failing to reach an agreement with Zamalek head coach Patrice Carteron, who recently renewed with the Whites.
