The surprised thing Patrice Carteron did after Zamalek defeat to Al Ahly in Egyptian Premier League

Zamalek’s Friday night turns soar after 3-5 thrashing by rivals Al Ahly in Cairo International Stadium. After the game, their boss Patrice Carteron did something surprising in league campaigns after failing to attend post-match interview.

Carteron did not shown up for his post-match press conference following his side’s humiliating defeat in the Cairo derby.

Carteron and Zamalek endured a dark day, where the embattled Whites were embarrassed as their rivals Al Ahly ran riot following a 5-3 victory on Friday night.

The Reds found themselves 3-0 up after just 25 minutes, before adding extra two goals in the second-half while Zamalek’s late comeback wasn’t enough for them to get anything from the game.

The defeat was Zamalek’s first domestic defeat in 25 games since their 2-1 loss to Al Ahly back in April 2021 and their only third with Patrice Carteron since he took charge of the team last March.

But it looks like the heavy defeat didn’t go well with the Frenchman who refused to attend the post-match press conference, unlike jubilant Pitso Mosimane.

Carteron will now hope to get his side back on track when they travel next Friday to Ismailia to face wounded Ismaily, who failed to claim any point from their opening three games.
