Zamalek loanee Hamid Ahaddad aims to secure permanent stay at Raja Casablanca

Zamalek loaned Hamid Ahaddad to Moroccan outfits Raja Casablanca beginning of the 2019-2020 season after the Moroccan International failed to adapt to life at Cairo since his stunning move from Difaâ Hassani El Jadidi to Zamalek in 2018.

Hamid Ahaddad was in fine form in Jadidi, scoring 26 goals in 61 league games before his move to Zamalek saw the player failed to find back of the net in 13 league appearance.

Zamalek and Raja Casablanca agree a loan deal for the 25-year old before the start of this season with the Moroccan giants having the option to sign the forward permanently only when Zamalek have no interest in making Ahaddad return to Egypt.

The 25-year old has seen a turning point in career at Raja Casablanca, showing some impressive performances for the Moroccan side in both the Moroccan professional league (Botola Pro 1) and the CAF Champions League so far.

The winger has grabbed four goals and two assists in 17 registered appearances across all competition to help Raja Casablanca reach the semifinals of this season’s Champions League.

Ahaddad who was expected to return to Zamalek has disclosed to close friends that he would want to remain in home land and with Raja Casablanca permanently without having a return to the Cairo-based side in sight.

However, the Moroccan outlet stated that the stumbling block for a possible deal would be the financial difficulties Raja are going through in the time being, unless Zamalek lower their demands.

Zamalek and Ahaddad have both had a good campaign in the 2019-2020 CAF Champions League after both reaching the semifinals of the competition from a difficult quarter finals.

The two parties are ought to meet in the semis of the Champions League with Zamalek set to make a trip to Morocco to face Raja Casablanca for a first leg game before the Moroccans return to Cairo for the second leg of the semifinals clash.

However, Zamalek added a clause to Ahaddad deal that prevents the Moroccan forward to play against them during his year period loan spell at Raja Casablanca.

Raja Casablanca manager Jamal Sellami has already urged his side to do everything possible to freeze the clause to allow the striker to be eligible against his former side in the Champions League when it returns from coronavirus suspension.

“The club must solve this issue as Ahaddad is one of the most important players and scored many decisive goals during the season,” Sellami said on Saturday after a CAF Champions League game against TP Mazembe.
