Zamalek reportedly receive a fine from FIFA for transfer of Mohamed Ibrahim

FIFA have reportedly imposed a fine on Zamalek over the transfer of Mohamed Ibrahim from Portuguese side CS Maritimo in 2015.

Ibrahim had joined Zamalek in the January transfer window over five years ago for €350,000 and spent a total of four years at the White Castle.

The 28-year-old then moved to Misr El-Makkasa on a two-year contract in 2019 and managed to rediscover his form after scoring four goals and providing six assists this season.

However, nearly six years after his return to Egypt, Portuguese reports have confirmed that FIFA decided to sanction Zamalek for not complying with the terms agreed with Maritimo.

According to A Bola, Zamalek were ordered to pay a fine of 1 million euros for not transferring funds to Maritimo for Ibrahim’s transfer.

The report also added that Zamalek have the right to appeal the decision before a specific deadline.
