Juan Brown: Former Argentina U-20 assistant coach is to be appoint manager at Ismaily

Argentina U20 former assistant coach Juan Brown arrived in Egypt to complete his deal with Ismaily to take charge of the football team.

Ismaily is having a very disappointing start to the season, having lost their three opening games in the league against Al Ahly, Ceramica Cleopatra, and Bank Al Ahly.

The team was led by Egyptian coach Talaat Youssef, who was not on the sidelines after testing positive for COVID-19 at the start of the season.

The newly-elected club president spoke about the football team situation and threatened to change the technical staff if he doesn’t see improvements.

Talaat didn’t like being threatened and angrily responded to the president’s threats claiming it’s unacceptable, before handing in his resignation.

Since then, the club’s board has been looking for a replacement, and it seems like Juan Brown will be the one to lead the team.

In 2016, Brown started his career as an assistant manager for Saudi giants Al Hilal SFC before taking charge of the same team. However, his reign didn’t last long as he only led the team in nine matches, of which he won three, tied in two, and lost four.

Juan then moved sides to lead Al Wahda in the same country but once again his stint wasn’t a long one. During his time with them, he played seven games, won two, and lost in five.

The 44-year-old then returned to his home country in 2020 to work as an assistant manager for the U20 Argentinian national team until he recently resigned to work with Ismaily.

Brown has now arrived in Egypt and will be meeting Ismaily president Yehia El-Komy to sign a contract with the club and start his job there.
