Mamelodi Sundowns reportedly tracking SuperSport United midfielder Sipho Mbule

Mamelodi Sundowns are keeping a close eye on one of SuperSport United’s key midfielders.

Sundowns have previously gone to SuperSport to bring in some big-name players, the likes of Elias Pelembe, Anthony Laffor, Jeremy Brockie and more recently Aubrey Modiba.

The Siya crew has been reliably informed that the defending league champions have been keeping a close eye on star man Sipho Mbule, who has been in fine form for Matsatsantsa in the middle of the park.

The Siya crew has been informed that Sundowns made contact with SuperSport over the possibility of signing the 22-year-old in the last transfer window, but their Tshwane rivals were not interested in selling the player.

The 2016 CAF Champions League winners, though, are not likely to give up in their quest to bring the player on board and could make an offer to bring in the national under-23 international next season.

While SuperSport usually plays hardball with their players, Sundowns have managed to get their way in recent seasons, securing the services of Brockie and Modiba after Matsatsantsa were adamant that they would keep the players.

The Siya crew has been informed that while Sundowns are interested in signing Mbule, SuperSport are hoping that they can get overseas offers for both him and fellow midfielder Teboho Mokoena after the Olympics in Tokyo later this year. SuperSport see the Olympics as a platform for both players to impress European scouts. Mokoena has previously been linked with Sundowns.
