Al-Hilal sack head coach after Club World Cup defeat against Al Ahly – Report

The AFC Champions League title-holders Al-Hilal have reportedly dismissed club head coach Leonardo Jardim after Al Ahly defeat in the FIFA Club World Cup.

Jardim took charge of Al-Hilal in June of 2021, leading the team in 26 games across all competitions, of which he won 15 and lost only four.

Despite winning the majority of his games with Asia’s club of the century, reports claim that the Portuguese head coach was removed from his position after the humiliating defeat against Al Ahly in the Club World Cup.

Al Ahly clashed with Al-Hilal in the Club World Cup third-place decider game, with both teams having their eyes set on bronze medals.

Ahead of the game, most had Al-Hilal as favorites to win the game due to Al Ahly’s major absences.

However, the Red Devils completely dominated the game from start to finish, claiming the bronze medals after a 4-0 victory.

As a result of the disappointing result, Al-Hilal are now looking for a replacement for Jardim, with Ramon Diaz being the biggest candidate for the job, as per Saudi Arabian news outlet Arriyadiyah.
