Orlando Pirates unveils new kits for 2022-2023 season
Soweto giants Orlando Pirates have unveiled their new 85th anniversary home and away kits for the 2022/23 season.
The Buccaneers revealed their new strip for the upcoming campaign on Thursday morning in partnership with long-time jersey sponsor adidas.
“This season signifies a major milestone in the Club’s long and proud history, with this being our 85th anniversary year,” Pirates media chief Thandi Merafe said in a statement.
“We are excited to launch the 2022/2023 season jersey with our long-standing technical sponsor adidas.”
The home kit, which has traditionally been black and white is described as being charcoal in colour this time around with silver accents and logos, while the trimming of the collar and cuff is red in colour.
Meanwhile, the predominantly white away srtip incorporates “smart design” graphics with accents of grey, with touches of black and red elsewhere.
The new home kit will be on display for the first time on 6 August 2022 when Pirates open their DStv Premiership campaign at home to Soweto rivals Swallows FC.
