Liverpool still leading race to sign Timo Werner from RB Leipzig

According to the Independent, Liverpool are still the frontrunners in the race to sign RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner.

Though there is a reportedly host of interest in Werner, most of reports have always linked Liverpool as favorites to win the striker’s signature due to Werner’s recent comments that seems positive about the Reds and their boss Jurgen Klopp.

One thing is certain for sure that if any move is on the card, Timo Werner has ruled out a move within the Bundesliga, with this already relegating Bayern Munich’s interest in replacing aging Robert Lewandowski for the Leipzig forward in the future to the background.

However, there is still a huge hurdle for Liverpool to over in Werner’s race due to other elite’s interest in the striker.

Manchester United, Chelsea, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus are mountains for Klopp’s side to overcome before they can finally grab the German striker in the bag.

There past few weeks have put Liverpool’s favorites tag into a big doubt due to the sudden outbreak of the coronavirus causing a profound financial uncertainty across Europe and the world.

Additionally, at an instance, Chelsea were reportedly contacted Werner’s representatives over a possible move to Stamford Bridge this summer as the West London search for a striker.

The Independent reports now that Liverpool are still favorites to sign Timo Werner as they knee making official contact with Leipzig despite many interests in their target.

Liverpool are reportedly in situation that they can lose one of either Sadio Mane, Firmino and Mohamed Salah to Laliga giants Real Madrid.

And Klopp values the German International as one of his three men up front and is expected bring the attacker to Anfield this summer.
