Chelsea eyeing Kepa replacement in Trabzonspor stopper Ugurcan Cakir ahead of summer move

Chelsea are reportedly keeping the tabs on Trabzonspor goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir as he has emerged a potential replacement for Kepa.

Frank Lampard haven’t seen the best from Kepa this season and is believed that Chelsea want to find his replacement at the end of the season.

The Blues have been linked with Atletico Madrid’s Jan Oblak as a replacement of the Spaniard but the Blues knew very well that securing Oblak’s transfer from the Spanish capital won’t be an easy task.

With this at hand, they have been forced to look for back-ups should in case ‘The Oblak Transfer’ proves beyond their possible reach in the summer.

Appearing as one the Blues can pursue in relation to the above theory is Trabzonspor keeper Ugurcan Cakir, who has been quite sensational for the Turkish side this season.

According to Fotospor, the £26million-rated Cakir is on the transfer wanted list of Frank Lampard but face huge competition from Liverpool.

The report adds that Eddie Newton has regularly handed the Blues information about the 23-year-old.

Newton came through the youth ranks at Chelsea and made 214 appearances for the first team but is now the assistant manager at the Turkish Super Lig team.
