Manchester United enter into the race to sign Barcelona and Bayern Munich flop Philippe Coutinho

Manchester United are reportedly enter into the race with Chelseas, Arsenal, Tottenham and Newcastle United to sign Barcelona star Philippe Coutinho in the summer transfer window.

The Brazilian has heavily been linked with a move to Chelsea and Newcastle ahead of summer move after appearing that the former Liverpool star is likely to leave Camp Nou if his loan spell in the Bundesliga comes to an end this season.

Bayern Munich are reportedly out of the potentials who can sign Coutinho permanently this summer after the Barcelona star failing to impress his Bundesliga employers.

Manchester United were initially understood to give up on Coutinho agaijst the backdrop that Chelsea may definitely seal a deal for the Brazilian play-maker this summer.

After learning that as it stands now, no top club including Chelsea are yet to make official contact let alone submitting a bid to Barcelona for Coutinho’s services has forced Manchester United to enter into the race in stealing the player’s signature.

Ole Gunnar Solskjær is weighing up signing a creative player during when the summer market is open. Having already sought after Miralem Pjanic but on the verge of losing the Juve midfielder to Barcelona, and Grealish but West Ham United are also demanding arond £100million with no sign of reducing Grealish’s asking price, Philippe Coutinho has become a target for the United boss in past few days.

Barcelona value Coutinho in a £120million deal but are willing to cut-down this amount to be able to find potential suitors for the Brazilian as the Catalans prepares to sell him.

The Premier League side are reportedly preparing a £75million deal for Coutinho ahead of summer move to Old Trafford.

Meanwhile, former Manchester United player Owen Hargreaves has talked about Coutinho’s move to the Premier League and a possible switch for the Brazilian to Old Trafford.

“I would love to see him back in the Premier League. He makes a lot of teams better.

“Premier League teams are probably the only ones with the capacity to sign him and, let’s be honest, when he was here he was a dream to watch.

“If Liverpool are missing one thing it is probably a No10-ish player. I know they probably don’t need him because that front three are so good as is the balance in midfield.

“There are a lot of rumours about Chelsea, even Man United. There are a lot of teams where if I was sporting director, surely his name is on a lot of teams’ lists to come in and make a big impact. The question is, does he do it on loan again or is it a sale, because it doesn’t look like he’s going to stay at Barcelona.”

“In a perfect world, I think they hoped it would have worked out but it hasn’t. Probably just based on Thomas Muller. His form has just been so good.

“Muller has just been one of the best players in the whole Bundesliga. He affects games and if you have got someone scoring two and setting two up every game.

“In the past Bayern played three central midfielders and in a perfect world they would have played Coutinho but Thomas has got the most assists in the Bundesliga and at Stamford Bridge in the Champions League he was unbelievable.”
