Liverpool set insight £75million transfer of Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli

Liverpool are preparing to sign Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly in the January transfer window according to reports.

Liverpool was quite in the just ended transfer window when it appears, though the Reds were interested in many reinforcements, but only succeeded bringing in Diogo Jota from Wolves.

While it’s understood that Jurgen Klopp will make rampant adjustment to his midfield in January, Virgil van Dijk’s unavailability for remainder of the season due to injury will undoubtedly force Klopp to sign a central defender in the next transfer window.

According to latest reports from Italy, Klopp has asked Liverpool bosses to sign Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly.

The Senegalese International has attracted a huge interest from the Premier League since August 2018 but Napoli’s asking price have prevented the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United and City to reach agreement for the player’s signature.

At beginning of last two seasons, Napoli reportedly rejected a bid around £55million from Maurizio Sarri’s Chelsea and completely overlooked Manchester United’s pursuit for defender at the beginning this season.

Again, Pep Gaurdiola has been tracking Koulibaly since last year but Liverpool looks the place the Napoli ace could end up. Napoli president De Laurentiis, who have been decisive in the 28-year old’s transfer, has slapped €120million price tag on Koulibaly.

The former European champions have reportedly met Koulibaly’s asking price, that’s according to Italian journalist Fabio Santini who claims Liverpool have agreed to pay £75million in exchange for Koulibaly.

He also claims that the Senegalese has agreed to leave the Seria A in January in a bid to join Liverpool.
