Chelsea to announce Frank Lampard sacking mid-day as players told not to come to training until Monday afternoon

Frank Lamaprd has been fired by Chelsea today Monday with official announcement expected to come in mid-day according to latest reports in UK.

The former Three Lion midfielder has been under intense pressure following Chelsea’s poor run of form in the Premier League winning only twice in last eight outings seeing the Blues fall from second on the league log in December 2019 to 9th in January 2020.

As the Daily Telegraph first reported, the players were told not to come to the training ground until Monday afternoon as Lampard becomes the 10th manager sacked during the Roman Abramovich era.

Lampard guided Chelsea to a 3-1 victory over Luton Town in FA Cup 4th round last Sunday but that could not save the legend from the chop less than 24 hours.

Chelsea have reportedly open negotiations with Thomas Tuchel to take over the mantle at Stamford Bridge. Tuchel was replaced at Paris Saint-Germain last month by Mauricio Pochettino.

Chelsea could also confirm Tuchel’s deal before the end of the day with talks reaching advanced stage claimed by The Daily Mail.
