Former Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Felix Annan advises team to avoid complacency in league title race

Former Asante Kotoko captain Felix Annan has urged the team to avoid complacency as they cruise to the Ghana Premier League title.

The Porcupine Warriors defeated King Faisal FC in the derby on Sunday to extend their lead on top of the table.

Asante Kotoko currently have taken an eight point lead on the league table following last Sunday’s win.

Felix Annan currently with Bobcats in the USA has advised his former colleagues to remain focused and win the title.

“I follow them [Asante Kotoko] every time. I speak with the boys every now and then, I still have contacts to them and we talk from time to time”, Annan told ghanasportspage.com.

“It’s true they’ve stretched the lead [on the league log] but they still have to be vigilant because the league is not over and points difference is very close, so they have to keep their focus so they wrap it up. But I hope they are able to win the league this year”, he urged.

Asante Kotoko face bitter rivals Hearts of Oak on week 24 fixture at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday.

The first leg ended in a draw at the Accra Sports Stadium in the first round of the season.

Kotoko Coach Prosper Narteh Ogum will be hoping to win this game in order to extend their lead on top of the table and most importantly impress their fans.
