Asante Kotoko Brazilian superstar Fabio Gama makes clarification on soft penalty call against Hearts of Oak

Asante Kotoko playmaker, Fabio Gama has finally voiced out to explain the penalty he won, which eventually won the game for his side yesterday in the Super-Clash and has taken a center stage in the media this morning as to whether he dived or it was a legitimate call.

The league leaders staged a perfect revenge against their sworn rivals Hearts of Oak whom they humbled narrowly by 1-0 at the Baba Yara Stadium to open a 16 points gap between them.

Brazilian star, Fabio Gama on the 14th minute, received a pass from Mfegue and raced into the box but eventually went down of which referee Kennedy Padi was very close to the incident and quickly awarded a penalty which was subsequently converted by Frank Mbella.
Speaking after the game, the 29 year old has rather stated he never dived to get that penalty since there was a contact but he was rather intelligent on that score. He said;
“I didn’t dive. I was touched by the player that is why I fell,” Gama said after the game.
“This is what I will say intelligence. The guy touched me and fouls are fouls so it was a penalty.”
Asante Kotoko will play as guest to Real Tamale United in match-week 25 of the Ghana Premier League.
