Asante Kotoko slap $1.5million price tag on Mbella Etouga amid interest from St. Etienne

Asante Kotoko have slapped huge sum of $1.5million price tag on leading mask-man Mbella Etouga. The Ghana Premier incoming champions could lose their forward when the season ends after several clubs Al Ahly, Mertz, Stade Rennais and Galatasaray already showing interest in the Cameroonian International.

In recent news, St. Etienne is the latest club to show interest in signing Mbella and the French Ligue 1 side were nearly beating competitors to the player’s signature before Kotoko hit with a asking price. However, St. Etienne’s presence at Kotoko has not been erased and are still favourites after being the only side on the negotiation table with the Ghanaian club at the moment.

According to sources, St. Etienne have submitted around $800,000-1.2million to Asante Kotoko in attempt to lure Mbella to Stade Geoffroy-Guichard at the end of the season. St. Etienne’s move see dynamics making the French side favourites for the forward over African giants Al Ahly.

Asante Kotoko will reportedly sell the striker and are weighting St. Etienne’s offer with the French side standing on $800, 000 to complete the transfer but Kotoko are hoping for a higher figure in Mbella’s price tag.

The Premier League side have placed price tag of $1.5million on Mbella as St. Etienne have been made aware of that. This is the first time Kotoko have revealed asking price for the Cameroonian International who has lighted the Ghanaian top flight league this season.

Futball Surgery can confirm that before St. Etienne, Kotoko had received offers for Mbella with monetary terms less than this asking price ($1.5million) but they failed to engaged prospective teams for the sale of their prize asset. One of the major reasons why they didn’t respond to those offers was the sight on the Ghana Premier League where they thought the slightest attention on Mbella’s sale could distracted the club’s focus on winning this season’s title.

Now that they have full understanding of winning the league, sale of Mbella is back on sight. They will sell the attacker at the end of the season but for right amount and they are now demanding $1.5million in exchange for the player’s signature.

St. Etienne will now have to reorganize themselves to meet the Kotoko new demand for the player before the likes of Galatasaray, Mertz, Stade Rennais come back into the party.
