Seidu Abubakar strike against Karela United hands Samartex FC first home win

Samartex FC secured their maiden home win of the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League season after pipping Karela United at the Nsenkyire Park in Samreboi.

A first half strike from Seidu Abubakar was enough to secure the ‘Timber Giants’ their second win in the Ghanaian top-flight league after eight games.

Samartex FC entered the fixture as a confident side after picking maiden win at Cape Coast against Kotoku Royals while Karela United went to Samreboi with hopes of picking a positive results against the Premier League newboys after losing on Wednesday to King Faisal at home.
Striker Seidu Abubakar opened the score for Samartex FC with a cool finish on the 35th minute which eventually became the only goal to be produced in the fixture.
Karela United came close in the last twenty minutes of the game through Samuel Atta Kumi and Richard Berko but their efforts went futile. Goalkeeper Richard Baidoo was the hero of the side in the second half as he denied the visitors from causing any havoc.
The Ghana Premier League goes on break for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
