Hearts of Oak coach Boadu explains why Kofi Kordzi did not start against Kotoko

Hearts of Oak coach Samuel Boadu has explained why top scorer Kofi Kordzi did not start in Sunday’s big match against Kotoko.

Kordzi, who has scored seven goals in the league, came off the bench to play the final 15 minutes of the match that ended goalless at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The forward was expected to start due to his good numbers but instead, Boadu went with the striking pair of Daniel Afriyie Barnieh and Kwadwo Obeng Jr.

“It depends on the training not that he scores a goal in a match every day, that doesn’t mean I should put him in. What we rehearse at the training will give you the chance.

“I see it like those starting are ahead of him,” Boadu told reporters.

The draw leaves Hearts of Oak 12 points behind Kotoko heading into the second round.
