Dr Ogum has proven he is a great coach – Hearts of Oak legend Dong Bortey
Hearts of Oak legend Bernard Dong Bortey has admitted coach Dr Prosper Narteh Ogum is doing a great job at Asante Kotoko.
Kotoko who were narrowly beaten to the Ghana Premier League title last season look on course to clinch the trophy this term.
Kotoko emerged as the best team in the first round and have been tipped to maintain their impressive form in the second round and win the league for a record 25 times.
They have amassed more points (37) than any side and have a seven-point lead over second-placed Bechem United. Whereas 12 points separate them and reigning champions Hearts of Oak with 17 games to go.
“I have followed the league and I think Asante Kotoko is doing well because they had a good preparation. Prosper Narteh has proven he is a great coach. He has gotten the materials at Kotoko and has been able to make good use of it, so I will congratulate him,” Bortey who won four league titles with the Phobians said.
“I don’t even remember the last time a club accumulated such points in the first round. It happened during our time with Hearts of oak, so let’s see if Ogum and Kotoko can break it.”
Kotoko will welcome Dreams FC to the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi this weekend.
