Legon Cities 1-1 Hearts of Oak as Sulley Muntari assists Isaac Mensah but not enough for victory

Legon Cities head coach Maxwell Konadu maintained his unbeaten streak against Hearts of Oak in the Ghana Premier League.

The Royals came from behind to secure a 1-1 draw in this matchday 18 fixture at the El Wak Sports Stadium.

Isaac Mensah scored with a header in the 12th minute from a Sulley Muntari corner kick to give Hearts of Oak the lead in the first half.

Legon Cities goalkeeper produced a wonderful save in the 37th minute to deny Hearts of Oak a second goal from another effort by Isaac Mensah.

Daniel Afriyie Barnie was put in a cross for a tap in but the Hearts of Oak striker was unable to put the ball at the back of the net.

The Phobians dominated the game in the first half and were leading the tie by a lone goal.

Legon Cities came back in the second half to get the equalizer through substitute Osmanu Amadu in the closing minutes of the game.

The Royals committed a lot of players upfront in search of the equalizer in the second half.

Cities were denied two penalties in the game but were able to capitalize on an error from Hearts of Oak left-back Dennis Nkrumah Korsah to get the equalizer.

Hearts of Oak are winless in their last four games in the Ghana Premier League.

Legon Cities are unbeaten in the Ghana Premier League since adopting the El Wak Sports Stadium.
