There has been overhauling of changes in the Wa based club starting from a takeover from former GFA president Akwesi Nyantakyi following his corruption sanction now to a change of club’s name.

Former Black Stars defender John Paintsil is the leader of the takeover group who are believed to buy All Stars around UD 2.5 million early this year.

Right after the completion of the takeover which was around somewhere March 2019, Stallions FC was proposed to replace Wa All Stars in terms of naming of the club.

But after deliberations, the naming of the club as Stallions FC never materialized, and yesterday on the 27th day of December 2019 stakeholders of Wa All Stars agreed to change the name to Legon City Football Club.

But before this, it’s not only administration and naming of the club that have experience changes, but the location of the club as well which have also moved from Wa, Upper West of Ghana to the Greater Accra, therefore resulting in a move away from the Malik Jabil Stadium in Wa to Accra in the upcoming season.
