Asante Kotoko have released three players, midfielder Justice Blay, winger Emmanuel Gyamfi and defender Christopher Nettey to contest for the month of January best player.

An official statement reads “After a largely positive start to 2020 for the Porcupines, the poll to name our Player for the Month of January is now open.”

“Having impressed throughout that period, we are delighted to confirm that defensive midfielder, Justice Blay; wing-forward, Emmanuel Gyamfi and right-back, Christopher Nettey have been nominated for the club’s maiden monthly award this season.”

“The poll to decide our winner is now open in our Official App, Kotoko Express App which is now free to download on both Play Store and App Store.”

“Subscribers can vote as many times for their choices. Voting starts today and ends on Saturday, February 8, 2020.”

Both players have been instrumental for the Ghanaian side with all three starting each game since the start of the 2019-2020 Ghana Premier League.

Christopher Nettey joined the Porcupine Warriors this term and has settled in simply well starting all six games so far in the Premier League. He is now preferred to experience Augustine Sefa at right-back under Maxwell Konadu, and he has impressed the technical team with his teasing crosses which now makes him one of the influential figures when Kotoko attack.

Justice Blay has arguably be the X factor for Kotoko and one among three best players in the Ghana Premier League for now.

He has scored two goal, an assist, and his tackles, ball-winning stats and distance covered on the pitch so far makes him a standout in the Ghana Premier League.

Blay has now been crowned three Man-Of-The-Match (MOTM) titles with them coming in Kotoko’s opener against Eleven Wonders, Ebusua Dwarfs and the latest against Hearts of Oak. He rose the quickest and highest beating off competition from his markers to put Kotoko in front against the Phobians in Ghana’s version of the Spanish El Clasico.

Emmanuel Gyamfi has been exceptional at the wings for the Kumasi based club, finding his name on the score sheet twice since the start of the season. He has been agile on the ball, taking on defenders and hurting full backs with his electrifying pace through the month under review.
