Kotoko striker Songne Yacouba clinches MOTM Award after Porcupine 3-1 fight back against Legon Cities FC

Ghana Premier League record holder Asante Kotoko came from a goal down to whip Legon Cities FC 3-1 at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday night.

There was one man that the Porcupines fans wouldn’t forget in today’s emphatic victory, Songne Yacouba who provided two assists of Kotoko 3 goals scored taday.

After the game, the Burkina Faso International was named Man Of The Match (MOTM) despite failing to register his name on the score sheet.

He pounced on a loose ball inside Cities own half before sending Augustine Okrah through on goal for Kotoko’s equalizer on the 33’ minute.

Yacouba also assisted Emmanuel Gyamfi’s second but Kotoko’s third goal on the night, finding his way through two Cities defenders before incurring a stunning what seems a cross towards goal, which the ball met Gyamfi’s head to connect into the net.

This marks the first time a Kotoko player has clinched the MOTM award after seeing the first award went to Techiman City player in week 1 of the Ghana Premier League.
