Former managing director backs Hearts of Oak to win next season’s Ghana Premier League

Former Hearts of Oak managing director, Neil Armstrong-Mortagbe has predicted a competitive 2020/21 season in which he sees the club winning the Ghana Premier League.

The Phobians’ main target going into the season is to win the league, which has eluded them in over a decade. They last celebrated winning the league in 2009.

Neil admits the club struggled last season but the new additions will make the team contenders for the title.

“I see a very competitive season. In the season that was truncated, we had a lot of problems but with the quality of signings that have been made, I see Hearts shaping up on the field play, getting a new technical director looking to put in place a technical set up that should hopefully make us competitive towards clinching our first league title in about a decade,” he told UniversSports.

“I trust in the competence of the board of directors, I believe in what they think is good for them. The board of directors wants to win the league as much as any Hearts of Oak fan so I believe in their leadership. I want to appeal to every Hearts of Oak supporter to contribute their quota and get involved,” he added.

The league will start in the second weekend of November, with Hearts facing Aduana Stars in Dormaa.
