Former Aduana Stars midfielder Samuel Adams set to replace Jordan Opoku at Asante Kotoko

Ghanaian side Asante Kotoko is reported closing on Sam Adams who remains a free man as it stands now. Adams is believed to be a replacement for Jordan Opoku who left the Kumasi based side last month after failing to reach contract extension with his formers employers at Kumasi.

Sam Adams played a big part in Aduana Star’s triumph in the 2016-2017 Ghana Premier League season but with his contract expiration this time, the midfielder has left the Dormaa based club ahead of the coming season.

Though Kotoko’s squad remain intact but are knee on replacing those who have departed within few months of the club’s CAF inter club competition exit and Adams have been identified as one, which according to media reports in Ghana, have went a long way in discussing his dream move to Kotoko with club’s management for weeks now.

Adams would be hoping to achieve a continental campaign with Asante Kotoko if he is able to strike a deal with the Porcupine Warriors. Adam’s last continental experience was in Aduana’s 2018 CAF Champions League campaign, where the central midfielder salvage the Dormaa side at their back yard after netting his side’s lone goal against ES Setif in the first leg of the tournament’s first round.

Before Adams’s side were thrashed 4-0 in the return leg and that marked the end of midfielder’s journey in continental assignment.
