Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson express concern about Jeffrey Schlupp fitness as Ghanaian injured in victory over Sheffield United

Roy Hodgson has laid concerns over the fitness of Jeffrey Schlupp after Ghanaian International sustained an hamstring in Palace 2-0 win over Sheffield United on Saturday.

Palace are sweating on the Ghanaian International latest injury against Sheffield. The absence of the Ghanaian would be felt by boss Roy Hodgson who has described the injury as ‘concerning’ (for him (the boss).

Speaking after the game, Hodgson declared his worry over the injury suffered by the versatile 28-year-old attacker.

“Jeff Schlupp is more concerning as it is definitely a muscle injury,” he said as quoted by the club’s official website.

“He felt a hamstring pull. It looks like we’re going to miss him for a while and that’s unfortunate because he’s been doing very well for us.”

Schlupp has been influential in Palace 14th placed so far and sparked the London based side to a 2-0 victory over bottom side Sheffield at Selhurst last Saturday.

Schlupp put Hodgson’s side ahead in the very early minutes of the game but was forced to first half late substitution when he was replaced by Eberechi Eze.

His replacement Eze scored in first half stoppage time to extend Sheffield’s winless run to 18 Premier League games, the longest winless run to a start of Premier League campaign.

Schlupp has already made 15 league appearances, scored two goals and provided one assist so far this season. Palace face Wolves in the FA Cup 3rd round, and his club will provide an updates about his availability in that clash in Friday night.
