What Asante Kotoko boss Prosper Nartey Ogum has said about Bechem United after coming home victory

In this moment in the Ghana Premier League, no fixture is played on easy grounds and Asante Kotoko welcoming Bechem United to the Kumasi Baba Yara Sports Stadium last Sunday present already anticipated difficult game.

“It’s good, I mean it was a very good game and it’s good for me because if you look at how tactically the game was, they were very defensively organized,” Ogum said.

“Because of that they didn’t allow us to play those penetrative passes and it was difficult to actually get the ball behind their defence.”

“We will stick to our game plan, we always trust in our process; even when it’s difficult we trust that we can still score.”

“I think we’ve just started so with time, it’s a game model, it’s a new game model I’m trying to develop and I’m trying to build in them so it will take some time and with time, they will be used to the game model and two they will be used to playing in front of a big crowd at the Baba Yara Stadium Stadium.”

Kotoko lead the Ghana Premier League table with 6 points while city rivals King Faisal have opened a title chase.

Ogum has risen to prominence in his coaching career after progressing from University of Cape Coast school team to Ebusua Dwarfs before bring Elmina Sharks to the Division One. Just last season, he opened a quest to win the Ghana Premier League but was beaten in the run to the ultimate by Hearts of Oak.

Ogum guided West African Football Academy (Wafa) to a third place and his impressive vibes forced Asante Kotoko to prize him away from Sogakope.

In his first season, he made a major squad overhauling after firing Eight of former first team players including captain Emmanuel Gyamfi and experienced midfielder Latif Anabila.

Ogum captured 13 new faces and majority of his signing have become starters for Kotoko in the ongoing season.

Four of his new signings, Richmond Lamptey, Joseph Amoako, Stephen Amankona and Samuel Boateng have started in first two games while Isaac Oppong, Dickson Afoakwah, Richard Boadu, Mfegue Rodriguez and Sheriff Mohammed have come in as subs over the two games against Dreams FC and Bechem United.
