Israeli based defender Montari Kamaheni earns late Black Stars call-up ahead of Ethiopia and South Africa games

The former Dreams FC left-back has been handed a late invitation to the senior national team of Ghana ahead of the crucial 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers this month.

Ashdod FC defender Montari Kamaheni has received a call-up to the Black Stars as replacement for Gideon Mensah for South Africa and Ethiopia games.

Mensah has been ruled out of the two games following the ankle injury he sustained in Bordeaux game against PSG in the French Ligue 1 last weekend.

Ghana coach Milovan Rajevac and his technical team have decided to hand an invitation to the Israeli based left-back as Mensah’s replacement.

Kamaheni left shores of Ghana in 2019 from Ghanaian top-flight league outfit Dreams FC for an undisclosed fee.

Ghana will take on Ethiopia on Thursday, November 11 before facing South Africa on Sunday, November 14, 2021 at the Cape Coast stadium.

The Black are second in Group G with 9 points – one point behind leaders South Africa and must win both matches to make it to the next stage of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.
