Their quest in searching for quality players have already yielded the bringing in of Emmanuel Sarkodie- one of the most sought after local players and a missing element in Ghana Premier League since the fade of the likes of Emmanuel Osei Kuffour, Michael Asante, Stephen Oduro and Jordan Opoku from the local scene.

Kotoko have also signed Kwame Opoku and they are in talks to add Emmanuel Keyekeh from Karela United, Yaw Andoh from Bechem United and very recently Latif Anabila from Ash Gold.

Talks have long begun between Kotoko and their regional rivals Ash Gold for Anabila but Kotoko have now advanced and on the verge of having a breakthrough of Anabila’s transfer.

Ash Gold have initially placed a $ 20,000 on Anabila’s head but Kotoko were not willing to offer that amount, and their differences broke the two parties away from the negotiation table.

However, they were back on the table and have finally agreed in principle $ 15,000 (GHC 85, 729) for Ash Gold midfielder Latif Anabila, claimed by FOX FM in Kumasi.

Anabila has been a consistent performer for the Miner for the last two years and a key figure for Maxwell Konadu during Ghana’s second place in 2019 WAFU tournament in Senegal.

Anabila and Maxwell developed a mutual understanding in Black Stars B camp and the player who was willing to extend his stay at Ash Gold is now will to play under Kotoko boss Maxwell Konadu at the Baba Yara Stadium.

The 23-year-old’s contract at Obuasi expires at the end of next season. Though the player is willing to to be tied down at Ash Gold, however, his representatives have since being working for a bigger platform in Africa and Europe for Anabila.

He has been linked with a move outside the Ghana Premier League for the past two weeks, but the reps seeing Kotoko as equals to many African clubs and even Europe, they have agreed to offer the midfielder to the Ghanaian giants.
